NSU Fun & Fitness offers THREE 5-day periods. NSU Fun & Fitness Camp is situated at the Health and fitness, Recreation, and Activity Center (WRAC). NSU Fun & Fitness Camp is open to all children, age range 5-12, in the Natchitoches and encircling community. Note: Campers must be 5 through the twelve months of the camp.
Camp starts at 9:00 a.m. Fall off may be as as 8:00 a early.m. Pick up may be as late as 5:00 p.m. Unfortunately, because of facility time and availability constraints, previous drop off or pick up is extremely hard later. 25.for each week 00 nontransferable/nonrefundable deposit. Campers must bring their own lunch. However, afternoon snacks will be provided throughout the week. Campers will be participating in a number of activities including aerobics, sports, arts and crafts, and more.
Campers will need to have athletic shoes and athletic clothes. Children have tendencies to stain or rip clothes while taking part in some physical activities, so ‘Sunday’s Best’ is not recommended. Other recommendations include sun hats and block. Parents may sign-up their children by submiting a registration form simply. For any mail-in registration form see contact information below. I strike the first mile in 6:35 which is much too fast for me. Settled into a far more manageable pace from then on. I wish I had some kick left at the end of the race to get another handful of seconds but I was to arrive on fumes just attempting to hang to the end.
There was no kick to be enjoyed. Still this is the best time I have run all season therefore i am still pleased with the result. I ran several long runs since my last race, some 6 and 9 milers that i think helped improve my time today. I also dropped a few pounds right down to 162 which can’t hurt.

I plan on carrying on with the long works in training to keep up my stamina and also add some speed just work at the track which I have not been doing. My friend also described today that I don’t warm up before the race which might help me meet my goal.
She suggested about a 20 minute warm-up run before the start of 5K to assist in improving my performance. As she is a cross country coach I am going to assume she knows what she actually is talking about and give it a try. It seems sensible that a warm up would be helpful certainly.
